NIGHT WHISPERER  30" x 30”   November 7, 2015  (SOLD)

This is a dark, introverted study of blue, and makes one big visual statement, varying black, French ultramarine blue, and a brighter cerulean blue. It reminded me of how color is experienced in a somnambulist state, brighter colors randomly emerging out of darkness, and receding again, in a sort of floating moving equilibrium.

Here the stripes are recessed below the entire ensemble, and can be discerned after a prolonged stare at the canvas, a ghost of the structure that started the painting, then abandoned.
